the overhead line going to my pole is 1960s copper. horrible for internet, tops out at 2 or 3 megabaud (cable is at least 10 and my cell phone has beat the old connection before.)
not sure if they've phased out landlines now, the in ground junction boxes still have the long-defunct GTE label on em, and I've not dealt with the company handling that communication line in years.
However the cost for this service is getting prohibitive. Approaching $100. Here, and thatβs only the landline without any other service and long distance service. I miss having a reliable source when the electric goes out. No batteries needed.
