Who here likes cod liver oil (loaded with DHA, along with grassfed meat and butter):

The fetus hoards DHA from the mother and incorporates it into its brain at ten times the rate at which it can synthesize it.

I do! I also like your energy in researching the electrochemical. I think that you would voraciously research browns gas if you ever found the time. Why are you and your wife preparing to arm wrestle?

We just found it to be an amusing pose for a profile pic - a "power" pose if you will. Good question though- she probably could have beat me.

Thank you for reminding me of this, the winter season is a time to fortify, from what I've read. I had for a time taken the fermented type, the Weston Price Foundation's cod liver oil, but I found for myself, this type didn't digest well for me. The fresher brand, without any additives goes down better.

I hope this helps. Thank you!

Thank you for your thoughtful comment Rauwolfia, good to know about the brand! What brand/ type do you like? I've also heard people had good results just eating whole cod liver.

The brand is Rosita's Cod Liver Oil. I'm not a fan of anything in capsules, if I have a choice, and they provide bottled cod liver oil. It doesn't have the enzyme component because it is bottled, canning kills enzymes but they are conscious to harvest, and immediate cold storage so there may be some lipase inherent, not sure. It is quality, we at the RCP community use that brand, they study the benefit of copper and have a whole philosophy around cod liver oil. I'm not wholeheartedly on board, but I've learned so much from those folks.

My thoughts, cod liver oil may or might be broken down and digested better with a raw egg yolk (contains fresh lipase), or better yet, raw cream or butter (lipase rich). The lipase, even in raw cow's fat could be utilized. I know lipase is available in capsule form, I used to take it. Now, I'm not a fan because of how they produce it.

I'm not experienced with eating whole cod liver. Shipment and access seems difficult to use on a regular basis. Also, taste is paramount, your buds will tell you, that is why I chimed in on your article. Never eat any fats that taste rancid, I do know that much.

Thank you for your attention to details. It can make all the difference.

I love connecting dots, and you just gave me a basket load! First time reading here, but not my last! Brilliant!

Thank you Penny! Curious- what was the biggest dot I was able to connect for you?

Probably the DHA information followed by the nutrition depletion in pregnancy.

Evolution part lost me.

Thank you for sharing Catherina - how so? The part on oxygen?

Hi, no, we were created, evolution as if man evolved over millions of years is not true. Creation testifies of intelligent design, not evolution.

This can be a conundrum, can’t it.

However, my personal belief is there are parts of Creation and those parts are designed to evolve as all parts are made to survive in their environment.

God is smarter than we are, please don’t throw out the baby with the bath water.

I have some salmon thawing that I'm about to cook today. This post came at the perfect time.

Fat is an important part of our brain. It might be obvious to us but to others they don't realize how much the war on fat(in our diets) is effecting not only us, but our future children.

If it's not the wifi router, it's the lack of nutrition that's going to get you.

Well said Jonathan. How'd the salmon turn out?

I made some fantastic salmon bisque chowder the other day - boiled the fish skin with onion skins and celery for 10 minutes - then strained it and used it as part of the stock.

Cut up the rest of the salmon, add some carrots if you want, and fresh dill makes all the difference.

😮 brilliant!

Thanks for the recipe.

Mine turned out good I just kept it simple. Salt, Garlic, Rice, & Beans.

Nice. Simple is often best, as long as there is salt.

The cod liver oil brand has proven to be efficacious and has provided benefits in the past. It's good stuff.

Good article and your hard work shows.

Thank you so much for your kind words and comment! Have you tried cod liver oil in the past?

Yes and by that brand.

If you are a male and want the added benefit of hormonal support I highly recommend the fermented cod liver oil with Butter oil. I have experienced good results from it, have referred it to other men 35 and over, and they all have experienced benefits from it.

You guys are on to good research. Our bodies are essentially living batteries, needing the proper trace minerals, vitamins and hormones for optimum efficiency.

Roman, you might be familiar with Georgy Dinkov and his cortisol to DHEA ratio. The optimal ratio provides proper electrical pathways, improved health, longevity, mental stability and a myriad of other benefits.

As this is your thread, I apologize for carrying on and if you're interested in following up on the cortisol:DHEA I'm sure that you'll find it complimentary to your own work.

Thank you so much for that info on the butter oil. How can you go wrong with more butter? (:

I'm aware of the cortisol DHEA ratio - but not Dinkov - thank you for this - made a note now so I remember to look him up.

Curious- how did you get into the field of nutrition/ wellness?

You can email me as well if you ever want to divulge personal stuff, but feel free to use this thread as well.

Thank you Katriot for your kind words and comment.

Great question on the bonfire. Our retinas regenerate and relax under infrared / red light, and this is why I believe we're instinctively drawn to a campfire:

We also love just burning a candle over dinner / at night, as this light also gives off infrared.

Did I inspire you to have one tonight?

Nice. I'm jealous. But yes seeing the Sunrise is something we can all do - and raises awareness of just how important the Sun is in times when "they" are trying to block it out. So much untapped power and infinite amount of frequencies and wavelengths at that time - Mother Nature's free medicine!

Enjoy that infrared fire light Katriot.
