do you think real bells, or digital music bells? kind of going the same way with fine organ music. organists are kind of fired b/c it is cheaper to just play digital music. way too bad. no joke. it would cost a lot, and no real return on the investment--which is the rule for everything--if it does not turn a profit to the investor, no go. it would require a brass foundry and the materials to smelt. there used to be Patrons of the Arts, usually called Angels, who would support such undertakings. I think they are all dead now.
I like the idea of real bells. I'm afraid if humanity went the route of "digital music bells" that would make it "too easy" and end up just contributing more noise!
I'm sure someone would complain about "bell noise" but where I live we have a lot of train horns all day and night. You get used to them. Ringing bells in case of emergency or as some signal seems like a really nice idea to me.
rem that in some places, in bygone days, someone would play the carillon at vespers. too sweet, too nice. yes, there would definitely be complaints. but it is nice to remember such things. we were that lucky. I'm sorry that the "good old days" really were better than the time we are in now. Everyone had good manners and were polite and caring and loved beautiful things. in those days, mothers could raise their children and fathers kept them from becoming barbarians. now it takes two salaries to have a home and the kids all end up in daycare and do not feel safe, and people are just so worn out they hardly go to and support churches any more, and the children do not have the opportunity to grow up and go to Sunday School and hear the bells or the music. Like Topsy, they are not raised, they just grow on their own. so they don't learn to appreciate things that enrich life. now we have a cartoon prez who sets the standard of being a greedy and tyrannical real estate developer. when WJC came into office and we saw what he was about, I thought: oh wow, this is going to bring down standards, and it was clear to see the decline continue . . . . Still, as the song goes, you've got to have a dream, if you don't have a dream, how you gonna make a dream come true? don't give up.
I live over a lake that broadcasts owl mating calls for 5 miles and my property sits on the highest point of the lake. (Thats why these Alaskan owls use my 70ft trees) I would build a bell tower in a heartbeat if I could get my hands on a bell.

That's amazing. I like to check under the lip of the bell to make sure the clapper is there, lots of times it's not. But if it is, and I can ring it, I will, or if it's sturdy enough i'll chuck a rock inside and people will definitely perk up and then sometimes follow suit (:
both small cities i have lived in longterm (as a child and then later) had nearby Methodist churches that rang the bells regularly, and i always loved them. the local Methodist church in my recent small town was still ringing them back in 2016-2018 - but i don't know if they do any longer, since i rarely go there. the churches rang the hours and i think both of them also regularly played hymns with the bells - i am not sure how that was done.
it is sad to me that many churches have been "politically corrected" to refrain from ringing. just another facet of the anti-human God-less agenda, imo.
bells & RF: i have a small bronze bell that is approximately D# in the 3rd octave above middle C, so i think about 76 to 78GHz. when i was staying at a friend's and getting regularly RF-blasted in town, i found that if i rang this bell all around my head at the temple zone, it would quickly help dissipate the temple headache and other RF symptoms - quite amazing. so when i moved out she gave it to me, and i still use it when i have been out and about and gotten blasted by RF. it's so healing for that, even tho (or perhaps because) the sound is so piercing. i have a couple of other larger asian bronze bowl bells which i also ring at times, and they feel wonderful.
The 'NAZIS' were too HONORABLE to do such a thing ~ but the ALLIES, with zero scruples and honor, BLAMED HITLER FOR EVERYTHING. On this show, she turned me right off when she said "stolen by the Bolsheviks AND THE NAZIS" ~ oops ~ CONQUERING NAZIS ~ Shame on you ~ And you speak of how SACRED the bells are ~ but you don't even know the GOOD guys from the BAD guys ~ very sad.
Interesting topic! Bells can sound great in music. I wonder if we could put them to practical use again in our noisy modern world?

My buddy leaves a BT speaker in the bushes by his church entrance to see peoples reactions to the church bells ringing on the BT speaker.
