The hardest part: de-addiction. Which has a lot to do with parents being willing to be good responsible parents - not easy when you have allowed your child to become addicted.

My teenage son and I had many heated conversations over what I'd class as addiction to World of Warcraft, I think it's called. He'd not come to the table for meals, be playing into the small hours, find it difficult to wake for school, had no other interests at all. Things got to a head when I pulled out the electric cables. He was so angry that he pushed me so hard I was knocked over! Being divorced, I phoned his father to speak with him on his next visit. He just replied with a "nothing I can do, I'm not there" attitude. So, in my despair, I suggested he go live with him and stepmother. I was informed by ex that if he went, then I'd never get him back. He went, and he meant it, although I did see him alt. weekends. Last time I saw or spoke with him was at my mother's funeral, November, 2015. I realise my big mistake as I obviously damaged his trust in me as a mother and probably felt rejected. I think his father should have at least tried to help though. It mainly seems to affect boys but I know some girls have the problem too. I read China has special schools to detox, for want of better description, from this addiction. My son was 15 when this happened. He's now 34 and in a very stable relationship. I've no idea if he still plays but I do know he personally doesn't bother with social media.

Markker, thank you so much for sharing your experience here - suffice it to say you're not alone, and are helping so many other parents by voicing what you went through. For what it's worth, I don't believe you were in the wrong, I probably would have done the same thing. Your actions were well-intentioned, and the fact that he doesn't bother with social media is a definitely a win. Do you still keep in touch? You never know, maybe he's come around.

No, he blocked me from his phone etc., not that he'd answer a text or anything. I still came in useful at timess such as when away at uni when he phoned me to tell me he got bad toothache and could I help :-) and year end to clear student accomodation, twice! I used to get a birthday card and mother's day card from both kids then it went to one card with both names. I found out later that my daughter was forging his name! It's not just kids though, is it? Families out for meals, mum's pushing babies in strollers, dog walkers, all got phones in hand, no conversations going on. All by design, trained to live in a singular virtual world. If I came back in another life, I'd be Amish!

Such a hurtful experience. No help. Somehow your son seems to have managed to de-addict. I know someone whose teen daughter attacked her physically when the mother grabbed the daughter's cell phone. You clearly needed help. And it would have helped your son as well. De-addiction - very hard.

Yes, very painful it is. For many reasons, alot still not known, there are many families with estranged adult children. I watched a Black Mirror episode on Netflix recently. The jist of it was this young man had taken hostage of an employee of a social media platform and he'd only release him when he was able to speak to owner of platform. When he eventually got through, he told him that his fiance was killed as they were driving one night. His phone annouced new message and he couldn't resist checking whilst driving, which then caused accident. The driver of other vehicle dead also but post mortem showed alcohol so he got blamed for accident. The CEO said, yes, they'd designed it so but it was getting out of hand, like a juggernout, and they couldn't do anything to stop it. I think substack is of similar ilk too, flitting between authors, comments and links!

I suppose substack can get people to flit between things. I do not do social media with my cell. I rarely use the cell. As for substack, I find it marvellous to have at hand such a wealth of authors with their thoughts, insights. I find it a tremendous resource. For instance, we can be in touch. But important to be okay with being away for extended periods of time.

Thanks Robert - but I wouldn't recommend any UV bulbs - just Sun exposure. The only light therapy I would recommend is red light therapy. Where are you located?

Roman, so few people seem to be aware of what you are studying. I’m in the middle of watching this right now, and if you have the time, please watch, tolerate Sabrina’s rough delivery, and interpret what information you see her presenting on the biofield

Thank you very much Margarita! I've seen this video circulating, but haven't made the time to watch it yet. I appreciate the reminder. Bioelectricity is something that has certainly been forgotten by most, but is resurfacing among many circles. Have you heard of Biogeometry and Ibrahim Karim?

This is all relatively new to me. Thank you for the references, I have not heard of either, so have some reading to do. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I’ve shared a few of your SS posts with people. The “Obesity Begins In The Eye” is opening a number of eyes. My wellness/yoga teacher friend, at dremawellness.com was particularly fascinated and will be using this info with her clients. What a wonderful resource you are providing!!

Wondering if there is any link or research on EMF and digestive issues like ulcerative colitis?

Thank you for this important message. The kids seem to be the brunt of most of the evils that are happening. Indeed, they are primary targets. They get them while they are young :-( Thanks for linking and quoting my post too!

Like tobacco, pharma, statins, mood "stabilizers" , candy etc they certainly do target children. Thanks Gary for your site - it really is a pot of gold for anyone who wants (emphasis on "wants") to help themselves.

Thank you for your thoughtful article. If you have time, could you please comment on the impact of EMF from an Apple iWatch? In our community, many parents are offering their kids iWatches in lieu of phones based on their belief that a watch provides some communication function but is less addictive than a smart phone. I do not want my child to wear any type of EMF emitting device. However when I say this to others they think the concern is unwarranted or the EMF risk is negligible. Could you please point me to any resources that explain what level of risk exists. I’m just assuming an EMF wearable is unhealthy but I don’t have the data/studies related to smart watches in particular. Thank you for your enlightening work!
