Fantastic article. You have a gift for simplifying complex subjects.

I tried using a grounding sheet, and you're right -- it made me feel worse. We had no easy way to ground it properly so we stopped using it.

Thank you so much Luzzie for your thoughtful, kind feedback! Good to know about the Earthing sheet. I'll include a poll in the article as per your inspiration.

Great collection of useful information. Sorry, I've been indisposed for several months, and couldn't give your work the attention it deserves. I am trying to catch up now with my favorite stackers.

This explains why those who live closer than 150 yards from a high-voltage power line develop cancer after an average of 10 years.

Stray currents must be terrible near transformers and power plants, but stray currents are also a mess in heavily-populated areas (I know that from music and home theater installations that require "power cleaners" in such places).

Fluctuations must also be bad in areas, where industrial activities use up a lot of electricity.

The electric grid also acts as an antenna that can be used as a weapon of mass destruction against the population, but lately, people have been volunteering in their own extermination by installing "smart" devices in their homes, and even wearing some. While "smart" meters create a data-collecting network that also disruptive to health, the most recent Wi-Fi routers turn the whole neighborhood into 5G/6G/7G antennas:

https://rayhorvaththesource.substack.com/p/enforcing-smart-households-with-your

The WMD "antenna" is probably a bit weaker, when the electricity is switched off, and I'll give it a try.

How about grounding the bed, if it's metal? How about avoiding the use of metal in a household, including in furniture? I'm sure, there are thousands more questions, but these are the ones I'm asking right now.

Wow! So much science! 😬 I've kept a dream journal for years. After almost two decades of living in the city, wearing an eye mask and ear plugs every damn night, I am now blissed out in the country. Total darkness except for the moon and the stars and silence except for the occasional owl or coyote. WiFi is off and so is the power in my bedroom loft. Not a 5G tower in sight. Most nights I'm in bed by 8:00/8:30 - something most people think is ridiculous but it's so much easier falling asleep. And yes, getting sunlight in the eyes during the day along with lots of walking in the woods every day makes a huge difference. Thx, Roman!

Thank you so much Barbara for stopping by to leave such a kind comment! Bohdanna and I are the same, we need that time to decompress...it's vital, and productive as we have more energy the next day. Glad to hear about the WiFi.

Did you figure out your computer situation with the EMF reading? If I remember correctly, you were still getting high readings with it plugged in?

Expand full comment

No, I didn’t really pursue it. I don’t work on it plugged in at all. They installed fiber optics in the house. Idk whether that’s better or worse but it’s turned off for at least half of the time and I spend a lot of time in the woods. 🌲🌲🌲

Immensely important. We tend to neglect the proper rest (not sleep), because the whole Western society is geared to a sick concept of “faster, more competitive, defeating others”. In other words, we push ourselves to become more obsessed with getting away from other people, under the guise of “advantage” over them - which is nothing else than fighting against other members of the same community. We feed this hidden enmity by stimulating ourselves to be more active than others, a concept so sick that you almost can’t believe anyone with brains could invent it.

What do we get in return? Burnout. We literally burn our inner circuitry out from this continuous overtension.

Our obsessed mind won’t give you a rest. You go out jogging, biking, or sailing, or walking a mountain trail, and you put some stupid electrified plastic into your ears - you literally contaminate your vibratory resonance instrument with artificial frequencies which are dirty and non-harmonious. You get a mini benefit of muscular training accompanied by the complete destruction of neuronal harmony which could have been triggered by the sound of wind, your feet landing on the ground, or the singing of birds and human sounds of varying properties.

On top of this, we don’t understand that the proper rest requires you to be relaxed and ready. You cannot go to sleep tired and exhausted.

These are all aspects which you can easily manage on your own without even hinting electromagnetic frequencies. But we are not ready for this. Even if you super-protect yourself against EMF, it won’t do much, because you are very actively destroying your mind longing for rest.

Expand full comment

Fantastic insights Dan. Sounds like you've lived this from experience. Our minds can be our most potent allies, or enemies. Letting go of control is difficult, but why, for me at least, I find I need an hour or more to unwind...and that time of reading, meditating pays back dividends.

When did you discover the importance of mindset and sleep?

Expand full comment

That was a bit weird with me. In high school, I used to jog a lot, at the best time of the day for my mind, which was about 4 in the morning, all year round. When I was back at home, an hour and 8 miles later, I was never tired, and I was doing the school stuff as everyone else. Except that I spent all day long without any rest and went to sleep at about 10. Which left me with 5 hours sleep net, a killer dose for teenagers (they said). The mechanics of this rhythm was magical and I noticed it was so strange - because my peers, who did not bother to do anything physical (other than partying and listening to music) were never so fresh and rested.

There’s more such intriguing developments, but it was all accidental to me, no premeditation, no theory put into practice. It was just happening on its own. Nowadays? You can’t help seeing young, “radiant” bodies walking around with zombie devices and seeing nothing, hearing nothing and understanding nothing. Conversation with these creatures is impossible, meaningful contact, forget, a glimpse-long attention span is best they can afford. And they look and behave more exhausted than my 80-y-old neighbors…

Not to overdo this, I don’t regard sleep as something of importance. It’s just part of the day. I often break routines and stay all night long up to 5 or 6 in the morning, only to take two or three hours of a nap, and then back to my job. After a few days of such disruption, I usually get about 3-4 hours of afternoon sjesta, and the body seems to carry on its own refreshment all right. I don’t try to philosophize about it.

Your mention of mindset may be a good clue, though. You will get it when you read my comments or articles. If I were to summarize it: 1. don’t fight what you cannot win, 2. if you can win, don’t fight - you already know you have won, 3. don’t do things which are not important to you, 4. choose carefully with whom you want to to spend time, 5. don’t worry about losses - things come and go, people come and go. Did it ad hoc, sorry for the chaotic list.

Thank you Dan. I love how you let life come in and live without fear, and keep running with a joyful attitude, both literally and figuratively. I used to run all the time as a child, and yes I still have amazing sleeps of 4 hours if I'm exhausted. I'd rather go to bed at 12 am exhausted and reading my book, then at 9pm still half-awake, fighting what I can't win as you say. The teens of today are lacking neuromelanin due to blue light, like so many with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's...hope they wake up to see that red light of Sun that will save them. Could you link to one of your articles here? Just don't want to forget to check you out. Thanks so much for stopping by, and for your words of wisdom.

It’s great to hear that you have a similar attitude. The blue light issue is a big question mark for me. I used to work in a high-end IT biz for about 20 years, spending much more than 12 hours per day (or night, or both) at the screen. It seems to not affect my sleep routines and I don’t have any higher organic demand for more rest, though. Isn’t this blue light overexaggerated? Just curious.

Thank you for the invitation to share, here is one short post about “do and don’t” which I find inspiring from my own experience: https://thepathishere.substack.com/p/dont-change-what-works-for-you

I hope your readers will find it useful.

I'm glad you asked me about blue light, as I left it out of this article, but will link to it now. Our eyes are meant to see reflected, full spectrum Sunlight, which contains 2x as much blue light as do our phones, which contain not reflected, but pulsed, direct light. This type of blue light destroys our growth hormone, spikes dopamine, as a result lowering melatonin, which is cancer-protective.

So not to overblow it, but I do believe that blue light itself is the most pernicious EMF in our daily lives, more than RF, or even dirty electricity, especially as the younger generations, whose eyes are still forming , are exposing themselves to it.

Here's an article I wrote on blue light:

I'm glad you asked me, but aren't you glad you asked? (:

Roman, thank you for this link, I skipped over its surface only, but it is apparent to me that you have managed to explain everything the best way I have ever found. Will have to re-read it a few more times.

The difference you are referring to (reflected vs. emitted) sounds like the key issue from the energetic take - just like hearing the source sound vs. its echoes, transferring pure essence in its native form vs. particles which are disturbed, reduced or malformed (in comparison with “full” light). Just an impression, I don’t know yet what to make out of it. Let me read the link first.

I used to experiment a bit with my sleep. For a few weeks I slept in a totally black room, all openings closed. The quality of the sleep was not of much difference to me, perhaps people with some physiological conditions would react to it more easily. But I found myself waking up in a position on the back much more often, usually with hands fully stretched behind my head. Just the opposite of the “foetus” position. That was interesting.

I also noticed that black room setting made my body rotate along with the whole mattress, as if feeling out the spatial directions. Captivating.

Thank you for triggering this interest in me.

It is easy to make an earthing ground by placing a small rod into the ground. Dig the wire down, until it reaches the house.

While this may be difficult/impossible in some circumstances (high rise flats), if it can be done then earthing sheets are very beneficial.

Expand full comment

Thank you so much Karl for your comment. Have you tried this?

What's your sleep setup look like, if you don't mind me asking?

Expand full comment

Yes, a short grounding rod in the garden, just outside the house. I use it for the bed and the grounding straps during the day. Used to use an emf shielding curtain, prior to 5G; however, am relatively lucky in that there is plenty of space to the neighbours, and trees/bushes definitely help. There are no microwave sources in the house, and I can't get a measurable signal with the meter.

I'm not sure I agree that no grounding is better than grounding to the house ground. You are undoubtably correct about some toxic wavelengths being present, but using the tap water analogy, drinking no fluids will kill quicker than drinking contaminated tap water.

The immediate benefits I've experienced are reduced/no muscle pain after repetitive/strenuous movement, and improved circulation.

It is really good you are out there, covering the, largely ignored, benefits of electromagnetic radiation/quantum particles! Thanks.

I'm not expert on them, but find the whole thing fascinating as you can see. Do you try to wear any type of amber glasses? I find they help at least take the edge off, but not bulletproof as even our skin has photoreceptors.

Get it on, bang the gong...ground it on...

This is fascinating that you bring up the possibility that Earthing sheets could be harmful. I've been sleeping on Earthing sheets for fifteen years now and have found them to be wonderful (as have others I've dealt directly with).

Which makes me wonder how do you really know if your ground in your electrical wiring is properly grounded or not if a normal grounding test shows it as properly wired. Maybe I'm just "lucky" to live in a truly properly grounded home? (which would be odd as the wiring in this house is actually rather poor)

I'd be curious about your thoughts on using not only a grounded bottom sheet but also a grounded top sheet (as well as grounded pillowcases).

Expand full comment

Fantastic questions John. You could very well be lucky, however EMFs and magnetic fields can also have downstream effects on our health and nervous system (plaques, tumors) that can take decades to develop. However if you feel well-rested, then you really have to go with your gut. I try to exercise the precautionary principle whenever I can, but that's me.

The only way to know if your ground is dirty is by having an electrician test the ground rod with a multimeter or oscilloscope, which would give you a voltage reading. If over 1 volt per meter, then it is not truly grounded. You could just be lucky, however dirty electricity and stray current is if becoming an increasingly prevalent global radiation hazard.

Some other tips to consider (which we'll be reviewing in our EMF 101 course (:

1. never earth yourself if body voltage is greater than 0.1 volt on the skin

2. try not to earth yourself if RF fields are greater than 0.001 microwatts/cm squared (peak reading)

If you do decide to go with the top sheet or pillows, I would suggest running a separate ground wire and rod directly into the soil, away from other electrical equipment. Solid copper piping is ideal, however a hollow copper tube could work. I try to dig deeper than 1 foot. Then test your body voltage while laying in bed as you would at night (circuit breaker off to the bedroom).

Does this help?

I was going to ask you a couple of other things but you had many people lining up at the event so I didn’t get the opportunity. I hope you don’t mind the questions about grow lights and red light therapy. Is this recommended and which ones are best.can grow lights provide benefits to humans?

Thank you so much

Hello Claudia! It was truly an honor meeting you and so many other inspiring, like-minded individuals. I'm not an expert on using light to grow plants, however I do know that many like white light, as red can often put plants "to sleep". This is why balanced light/ full spectrum Sun is always the best. How much are you thinking of growing? I'll try to find a link on a good grow light I saw a while back.

If I'm not mistaken, you also had a question on amber/ blue-light glasses?

Here are the computer glasses we wear during the day (block 50% blue light, so don't get as tired as full red/amber glasses that block most blue):

These can also work:

Ohhhhh, so amazingly cool. I luuuuv all this, and you make it so easy to understand!

I've heard of this sticky stuff one can put on windows that is supposed to shield at least some of the EMF's... Is that effective? And... are EMF's like "clouds"? Can they turn corners? Fill gaps? Does aluminum siding help keep EMF's OUT, or just trap them when they come through windows?

Fangks, RSS, and cheers, and woof! ^_^

Expand full comment

Hello Herder! Thank you so much for your kind words. In my opinion, shielding needs to be a last resort, and pursued with caution. Sometimes shielding can multiply EMF due to the fact that EMFs magnetize and can create beams of light that intensify the waves into particles. To your cloud question, good question (: EMFs are both particle, and wave.

Does that help clarify?

If I could make two suggestions:

1- if you are interested in pursuing EMF mitigation via shielding, let me know and I can look up a qualified tech to consult / do the install.

2- consider taking our EMF 101 course! It launches Feb 26, includes 6 lesson modules with over 26 lessons, and 6 live calls. The last calls will be with some other EMF experts. We'd love for you to join us!

Thank you so much for your feedback Mary! I'm so glad you could get some value out of the article. Yes, please let me know how that goes. Blue light, as you may or may not know, is also a biggie to avoid at least 2 hours before bed (1 hour minimum). By cutting the power, we cut at the root of the problem, namely dirty electricity as a super-conductor of EMF. That's not to say you still may not have residual dirty voltage, why I like doing the body voltage test.

Thanks again for your comment, and for reading!
