As usual, at company meetings, they are probably asking for safety info, thus provided a standard paragraph to learn to repeat, to interested consumers and continue on with their job...
Thank you so much for that story Vinnie. I can almost picture your interaction. It's a knee jerk reply they give, and look the other way. Most people just want to hear "no, it's not a smart meter" so won't go on to ask that second follow-up quesiton like you did.

Yet again, we already have smart meters. Our electric company has now sent out postcards telling us we will be getting NEW SMART METERS within 2 months and they say WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO OPT OUT! PERIOD

I was force-fed a Smart Meter, and couldn't stop it once they'd begun... I'm a renter, so I'm not sure I can just remove it... I sent those assholes that have a monopoly over the area I live in (PSE in Western WA, USA) a letter demanding an electro-magnetic type of meter, but alas, the deal was done, and they simply ignored me. They don't give a fuck about us...
I am aging rapidly. I now have arthritis, my hair is thinning, my skin is sagging... I'm also in the midst of trying to save my very elderly and vulnerable parents from a rapacious and conniving brother who wants to "shelve" them permanently and roll through whatever assets they have. So... I must endure until the end of March... right around the time we'll probably enter a damn "civil war," that is hoped to have us killing EACH OTHER, so the Nasties don't have to do it (so much).
I am trying to think of ways to RESIST. I am very poor in the financial sense, and have the 24/7 care of an aged father. I am NOT GIVING UP.

Criminal and all of this evidence of purposeful targeting of the population. They wondered why they were always sick, couldn't sleep, had rashes, headaches and more.
It was EMF Planetary fb page of Elana Freeland. When covid hit I could no longer use my cell phone but I let it go on too long and got radiation sickness. Down for the count. Had to find doctors who knew how to deal with it. Only military doctors know about it of course. Long covid? or radiation sickness? I think the latter. But many had no idea.
"Smart" meters are actually daisy-chained, so there is no need for a van with a radar on it, because the provider can collect the encrypted information at the end of the line.
However, the latest type of "home" Wi-Fi can turn the electric grid in the neighborhood into a giant antenna; no need for 5G towers, because the residents themselves are volunteering their own infrastructure:

Even though there's no opt-out, you can still try sending them a letter of non-consent. If that doesn't work, you couid get diagnosed as electrosensitive / get a doctor's note, and they need to accommodate.

I think that I’m starting to think like you. My left ear now has tinnitus pretty badly and I read from you that it’s probably from the EMFs so I will try to go that medical route, I will try calling the state and the utility because I am so POed! Also, at your recommendation, I bought some of the foil type material from stetzer electric, and they show in there how you can use that to block it out of your house. Also bought an outlet meter and one blocker so far so keep sending out that great info! The electric company came with a smart meter and my friend told him to get the heck off of their property but they had no choice to install it because they’re also in PA. We got the letter a couple years ago informing us our wonderful analog electrical meter would be replaced with a smart meter. I wasn't on the ball, and it got replaced...
A little over a year later, I got wiser, and did the opt out (and paid $90 for that "opportunity"). They came out and replaced the "smart" meter with another meter that looked just like it, only supposedly isn't smart. Getting one of the old analog meters back is not an option... I did look up the product specifications, and the new "non-smart" digital meter is supposedly not communicating wirelessly, but I'm still suspicious of the data it is collecting. This meter is made by the same company as the "smart" meter they took out. I pay an extra $15/mo. on my bill for them to send someone out to read it.
Maybe this is already a question being asked in the comments, there's too many to go through.
I read that if all your neighbors have smart meters it is futile to remove yours because the way they work is like a network where they pass the information down the line to each other. They essentially talk to each other and even if yours is gone, that nasty signal is still passing through your home from the neighbors on either side.
Also a question I doubt is here. I live in a house built in 1910, of poured, reinforced concrete. It's was formed on the outside to look like concrete block.
It's really not as ugly as it sounds with the right paint and highlights.
Anyways, it's about 10 inches thick. Does this protect us from emf more than the average house?
We live in tornado alley of Ontario so I imagine this house was built back then with that in mind. It's a one of a kind here as far as I know.
The lumber used in the rafters walls and joists is also unheard of by today's standards. It's 10 inch in some places. Solid as a rock. Even the lath and plaster is crazy thick, with some sort of mortar in place of actual plaster. I feel safe as a bug in a rug here in stormy weather but have horrible emf symptoms from modem etc.
I had called my local utility, who simultaneously assured me there was nonsmart meter at the foot of my property and that they could remotely read my meter and see real-time updates…
I used two different EMF readers and saw random spikes of radiation outbursts at different frequency sets, well beyond safety standards.
Despite being ~150 feet from the home, I covered part of the decide with anball weather Faraday fabric. The readings fell to safe levels.
All reading were taken within one foot of the smart meter.

As you may know, these towers can't be currently fought on the basis of health, but via economic concerns - property values going down, etc.
Some towns like Chatanooga TN and in Utah who have run fiber have increased home values. Realtor associations could be our greatest ally.
We ought to fight the fact that we can't fight on the basis of health!!!!!!!!!!
